Therapy for Men

Real, practical therapy for men who are tired of pushing through.

Therapy for men is often the place guys land after trying everything else first—working more, thinking harder, ignoring it, or telling themselves it’s “not that bad.”

Then something gives.

Maybe it’s stress at work, snapping in conversations with your wife,  overthinking everything, feeling lost,  or realizing you have no idea how to talk about what’s actually going on.

That’s usually where therapy starts—not polished, just honest.

Men’s Mental Health Counseling

A lot of men come in saying, “I’m not great at talking about feelings.” That’s completely fine—you don’t need a TED Talk.

Therapy for men is about understanding how you operate—why you shut down, avoid, overwork, or feel stuck—and then actually doing something about it.

We keep it real, practical, and focused on what actually helps.

Whether you’re dealing with:

  • Relationship or communication issues
  • Work stress and performance pressure
  • Anxiety or overthinking
  • Sexual anxiety or confidence concerns
  • Burnout or emotional exhaustion
  • Unresolved trauma

You can get to the top, but it’s ok to need support.

A Different Kind of Therapy for Men

This isn’t a stiff or overly clinical space.

There’s room to:

  • Laugh
  • Be sarcastic
  • Say “I don’t know what I’m doing here”
  • Show up without having the right words

I create a space that’s relaxed, straightforward, and real—no pressure to perform, no forced vulnerability. That’s a big reason men keep coming back. It feels normal.

How Men’s Issues Show Up

Men’s mental health challenges don’t always look like “therapy problems.”

They often show up as:

  • Irritability or anger
  • Burnout and chronic stress
  • Checking out in conversations or relationships
  • Feeling disconnected or numb
  • Overworking or avoiding problems
  • Carrying everything on your own

Therapy helps connect those dots—without overcomplicating it.

We focus on what’s happening in your real life—your job, your relationships, your stress—and how to shift patterns in a way that actually sticks.

How Therapy Helps

Using approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), somatic (body-based) work, and relational therapy, we focus on:

  • Building self-awareness without overanalyzing
  • Improving communication in relationships
  • Learning how to manage stress and reactions
  • Breaking patterns of avoidance or shutdown
  • Getting unstuck and moving forward

This is therapy that’s grounded, practical, and actually useful in your day-to-day life.

Who This Is For

This work is a good fit for:

  • Men who feel stuck but don’t know why
  • Professionals dealing with stress or pressure
  • Men who struggle to open up or express emotions
  • Partners who want to improve communication
  • Men who are tired of handling everything alone

If you feel stuck in the same patterns, therapy for men can help you reconnect and move forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you specialize in therapy for men if you are a woman?

Soon after starting work in mental health, I randomly came across some men wanting to express their feelings, talk about their traumas, and be better men.  I was floored by their desire and, once I went into private practice, this became a niche of mine.  Men often tell me that they feel like it’s easier to talk to a woman without the fear of being seen as vulnerable by another man.  I’ve seen so many men get better— it’s a priviledge.

No. You don’t need the “right words.” We figure it out together, at your pace

It can be. This approach is practical, direct, and focused on real-life change—not just talking in circles.

That’s actually really common—and a great place to start.

Yes, virtual therapy is available.  One of the benefits of virtual therapy is actually the safety of the screen.  It can provide a barrier that makes getting vulnerable easier.

You Don’t Have to Figure This Out Alone

If you’ve been searching for therapy for men near me, men’s counseling, or support that doesn’t feel stiff or overly clinical—this is a place where you can show up as you are and actually start to figure things out.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to get started.
