Therapy Should Look Different
For Each Individual

Only You Are The Expert Of Your Mental Health Experience

Providing counseling and therapy in Massachusetts via telehealth. If you are missing out on a sense of peace or feel like you’ll burst if something doesn’t change soon, then it’s worth it to invest in yourself through counseling. I’m committed to not pathologizing people (you are not broken), but some of the concerns I work with the most are: men’s issues, relationship concerns, substance use disorders, and self esteem/empowerment.

I tailor therapy to your needs, and focus on measurable success through the use of evidence based models. I know what it’s like to suffer and to start to see the light. You can, too. While I adhere to a therapeutic structure, you’ll find me casual and making use of humor- no one wants to talk to a robot.

We provide Therapy via Telehealth in these areas and all of Massachusetts:

Services

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Here’s the cool news! We can feel bad and still act from our best self! ACT builds this skill. ACT is a behavioral therapy that helps us increase present moment awareness and psychological flexibility, instead of fighting fears, memories, and distressing sensations.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

SFBT asks us to focus on where we are now and our future goals, avoiding an in depth dive into the past. Sometimes people believe hyper focusing on problems equates finding an effective way of addressing them, which often isn’t the case. SFBT is a short term intervention based on what is changeable and possible in real time.

Motivational Interviewing

MI is a way of being, a person centered approach that acknowledges the difficulty of commitment to change. MI is particularly helpful in eliciting behavioral changes around addictive tendencies like substance use, food addiction, and codependency. Through empathetic reflection, motivation is built to resolve ambivalence.

Mindfulness focused & Strengths based

Mindfulness & meditation aren’t explicitly considered therapeutic interventions, but drive the therapy that we do. We live from a less reactive place when we put this into practice. I approach some sessions with a “mindful minute” meditation to help hone these tools.

Emphasis lies in finding and acknowledging your strengths, then building on them to build esteem. People have a tendency to see the negative, and this is especially common in a diagnosis based field. Accepting the good parts of ourselves is essential to the healing process.

Ego State Therapy

Ego state therapy is a modality that helps understand and modify conflicts between stuck parts of ourselves. We identify our most healthy, adult states while restoring a level of safety to parts that feel dysfunctional. Often, ego state therapy is useful for those of us whose childhood caregivers did not meet our attachment needs, resulting in a lack of self soothing skills. As adults we can take responsibility and heal.

Telehealth

Although some providers only use video chat as a response to COVID-19, I see telehealth as an easily accessible resource I’d like to to offer long term. I use a HIPPA compliant video platform and offer flexible scheduling, so that you can attend counseling without getting a babysitter or even changing out of your gym shorts. Telehealth also allows me to see individuals throughout Maine, Massachusetts, and Florida.

Walk Talk Therapy

Come take a walk with me along the beautiful Eastern Prom or a local trail! Biscuit, who is currently training to be a therapy dog, will be joining us. Trauma is often trapped in the body, which is why yoga is such a commonly recommended trauma recovery tool. I find that walking/hiking is a great metaphor for the journey of life, too. Confidentiality is of greater concern, so we’ll have a discussion first to see if walk & talk therapy could be a comfortable option for you.
